Who we are

businessclosureguide.com is operated by UK Auction Group Ltd, registered in England and Wales (Company No. 16130124), Auction House, Unit A, Fromac Works, Junction Street, Hyde, SK14 4QN. We are the data controller for information collected through this site.

What we collect

This site has no enquiry forms or visitor accounts. We collect the anonymous website statistics described below and the standard request details that hosting the site requires.

Website analytics

We use PostHog, hosted in the European Union, to measure how people find and use this site. It runs in a cookieless mode: it does not set analytics cookies or keep analytics identifiers or measurements in browser storage. It performs two temporary browser-support checks using fixed test values, which are immediately removed and contain no visitor information.

For each page view, PostHog receives the page address, the referring site, any campaign tags in the address, your browser and device type, and page performance measurements. When you follow a link to UK Auction Group, we record that the link was followed and which page it leads to. Your IP address and browser details are combined into a short-lived, irreversible daily code so we can count visits; the IP address itself is discarded and is not stored with your visit. This code changes every day, so visits are not linked across days.

We do not record screens, keystrokes or mouse movements, and we do not use advertising trackers.

Analytics requests pass through a proxy we operate on Cloudflare's network, which may process the request outside the United Kingdom or European Union before it reaches PostHog's EU servers. The measurements are kept for as long as we need them for reporting.

We process this information on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site. You may object at any time through UK Auction Group's contact page. Because visits are not linked to you, we cannot remove past measurements, but we will act on your objection for future use where we can.

Hosting

When you visit, our web server and Cloudflare, our hosting and security provider, receive the technical details that every web request carries: your IP address, browser type, the time and the page address requested. These details are kept in standard server logs to run and secure the site. They are not used to build profiles of visitors. We process them on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Cookies

This site does not set cookies for analytics, advertising or tracking. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies, such as bot-protection cookies, to keep the site secure and available.

Who we share it with

Cloudflare provides hosting, content delivery, security and the analytics proxy for this site. PostHog stores the anonymous website statistics described above in the European Union.

Links to other websites

Some links take you to UK Auction Group or a source publisher. Those websites have their own privacy notices and may collect information when you visit or contact them.
